Meet the Designer.
Furniture artist Christopher Grant Ward creates one-of-a-kind furniture from his studio in Glendale, CA.
A trained scientific illustrator, Ward’s furniture is inspired by natural forms and research of botanical and animal anatomy. All work is handmade with traditional methods, sustainable materials and non-toxic finishes.
Each piece is made custom on commission, unique for the buyer; no two are exactly alike. Christopher will work personally with each commercial location to define dimensions, materials, and design.

Dragonfly Table
The parabolic arch with deep grooved edges invites communion and friendship. Made from African sustainable mahogany, the table’s six legs invoke the Dragonfly, a totem of free expression. The two center legs pose in a dancer’s embrace. Hand-inlayed bubinga hardwood contrasts the top surface in organic pattern.
Fauna Étagères
Open display cases made to hold treasures from a traveler’s journey. The balanced fulcrums provide four levels of showcase, all made of African sustainable mahogany. A matched set of étagères can be used together or separately.
Monarch Chair
Inspired by this year’s abundance of monarchs outside our shop, this concept chair’s open arm design with decorative pass-thru handles evoke the lightness and grace of nature. The back employs a Native American butterfly symbology, as well as thin spans of elegant hardwood. Made entirely from African mahogany. Perfect for dining or occasional seating. Specific wood species available on request. Armless versions are also available custom.
Bow Bench
A mahogany deck tied together with a bowed crosspiece. The smooth tung-oil finish was a classic match for a rustic home.
Echo Surface
A solid wood dining table built from concentric circular forms.
Table Figura
Borrowing from botanical architecture, the Table Figura used four organic extensions to create a sturdy yet airy aesthetic. The optional recessed detail in the tabletop holds a centerpiece.
